Introduction:

YDS is a national initiative started by Surfing Association Singapore (www.surfsingapore.com), which is the local governing body recognized by Singapore National Olympic Council and SportsSG.

YDS is a comprehensive youth standup paddle development program designed for intermediate surfers and paddlers alike to foster a lifelong passion for surf and SUP, promote physical and mental well-being, and develop talented surfers and young SUP paddlers for competition. Singapore Youth Paddle Academy's role is to support the development of young standup paddlers.

To provide a safe, supportive, and structured environment for youth to learn, grow, and thrive.

Program Objectives:

1. Develop fundamental SUP skills and techniques.

2. Promote physical fitness, mental resilience, and emotional well-being.

3. Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and community engagement.

4. Identify and nurture talented young surfers for competition.

5. Foster a positive and inclusive SUP culture.

Age Groups:

- Groms (8-10 years)

- Juniors (11-14 years)

- Youths (15-18 years)

Program Levels:

- Beginner (fundamentals)

- Intermediate (skill development)

- Advanced (competition training)
